2、mformorethan3months.Adequateinsuranceisapreconditionforenrolment!1.StudentsfromEuropeanEconomicAreacountriesAustria,Denmark,Finland,France,Germany,Greece,Ireland,Italy,Luxemburg,theNetherlands,Portugal,Spain,Sweden,theUnitedKingdom,Liechtenstein,Iceland,Norway,C
3、yprus,CzechRepublic,Estonia,Hungary,Latvia,Lithuania,Malta,Poland,Slovakia,Slovenia,Bulgaria,Romania,Algeria,Tunisia,TurkeyandtheformerYugoslaviaandfromothercountrieswithwhichBelgiumhasahealthinsuranceagreement(Algeria,Australia,Tunisia,Turkey,formerYugoslaviaan
4、dQuébec)maymaintain thehealthinsurancefromtheirhomecountrybytakingoutaEuropeanHealthInsuranceCard(EHIC)oranotherspecifieddocumentatthehealthinsurancecompanyintheirhomecountry.ThismustbedonebeforedeparturetoBelgium. Uponarrival,freeregistrationwithaBelgianinsuran
5、cecompanygiveseasyreimbursementfacilities.However,youhavetwooptions:·You makearrangementsforcoverageofyourmedicalcostsduring yourstayinBelgiumwithaninsurancecompanyin yourhomecountry.ThismustbedonebeforedeparturetoBelgium.Youwillneedtosendalldocumentsrelatingtoy
6、ourmedicalcostsdirectlytoyourhome-basedinsurancecompanyandcontactthemincaseofhospitalization.Youwillalsoneedtoadvanceallout-patientmedicalcosts.·IfyouwillstayinBelgiumforlessthan12months,you subscribeforfreetoaBelgianhealthinsurancewithacopyofyourEHICcard(oranot
7、herspecifieddocument)andyourpassport.TheBelgianhealthinsurancecompanywillreimburseyouacertainpercentageofthecost(normally75%)forthemedicaltreatmentyouhavehad.Thereimbursementwillbedonedirectlyonyourbankaccount,eitherinBelgium(ifyouhaveone)orinyourhomecountry.2.S
