5、tallstages,thesignalbeingfilteredisanelectricalvoltageorcurrentwhichisthedirectanalogueofthephysicalquantity(e.g.asoundorvideosignalortransduceroutput)involved.Adigitalfilterusesadigitalprocessortoperformnumericalcalculationsonsampledvaluesofthesignal.Theprocessormaybeageneral-purposecomputersuchasa
6、PC,oraspecialisedDSP(DigitalSignalProcessor)chip.TheanaloginputsignalmustfirstbesampledanddigitisedusinganADC(analogtodigitalconverter).Theresultingbinarynumbers,representingsuccessivesampledvaluesoftheinputsignal,aretransferredtotheprocessor,whichcarriesoutnumericalcalculationsonthem.Thesecalculati
