3、hecompanyanareaoflandbetweentheCharlesandMerrimackRivers.ThePuritanswereProtestantswhodidnotagreewiththeAnglicanChurch.ThePuritanswantedtochangethechurchtomakeitmoreholy.TheywereabletoliveastheywantedinMassachusetts.Soontheybecamethelargestreligiousgroup.BySixteen-Ninety,fifty-thousandpeoplewere

4、livinginMassachusetts.Puritansthoughttheirreligionwastheonlytruereligionandeveryoneshouldbelieveinit.Theyalsobelievedthatchurchleadersshouldleadthelocalgovernment,andallpeopleinthecolonyshouldpaytosupportthePuritanchurch.ThePuritansthoughtitwasthejobofgovernmentleaderstotellpeoplewhattobelieve.S
