3、eeninvestigatedinthelasttwodecades.Inthelastfewyears,anincreaseinresearchworkhasbeenobserved,bidirectionalswitchesmadethematrixconvertertopologymorebringingthistopologyclosertotheindustrialapplication.Thisattractive[5]–[9].However,therealdevelopmentofmatrixcon-paperpres
4、entsthestate-of-the-artviewinthedevelopmentofthisvertersstartswiththeworkofVenturiniandAlesinapublishedconverter,startingwithabriefhistoricalreview.Animportantin1980[10],[11].Theypresentedthepowercircuitofthecon-partofthepaperisdedicatedtoadiscussionofthemostimportantve
5、rterasamatrixofbidirectionalpowerswitchesandtheyin-modulationandcontrolstrategiesdevelopedrecently.Specialat-tentionisgiventopresentmodernmethodsdevelopedtosolvethetroducedthename“matrixconverter.”Oneoftheirmaincontri-commutationproblem.Somenewarraysofpowerbidirectional
6、butionsisthedevelopmentofarigorousmathematicalanalysisswitchesintegratedinasinglemodulearealsopresented.Finally,todescribethelow-frequencybehavioroftheconverter,intro-thispaperincludessomepracticalissuesrelatedtothepracticalducingthe“low-frequencymodulationmatrix”concep
