4、ntifiedfromreviewofover160articlespublishedin20journalsduringtheperiod1965-1980.Publicationsineachparadigm(expert,psychophysical,cognitiveandexperiential)arereviewedwithreferencetocontributionstopragmaticlandscapeplanningandmanagementissuesandtotheevolutionofageneraltheoryoflandscapeperception.Tre
5、ndsinpublicationswithintheparadigmsareindicatedovertimeandbyprofessional-disciplinaryorientation.Overall,theabsenceofanexplicittheoreticalfoundationisnoted.Argumentsinsupportofthedevelopmentofatheoreticalframeworkforlandscapeperceptionresearchareadvancedandaproposedframeworkbasedonaninteractiveper
