4、terialsVolumeBragggrating(VBG)isthekeycomponentinvariousopticalsystemsappliedforlasers,medicine,opticalcommunication,aerospace,etc.,becauseoftheirhighspectralandangularselectivity.TransmittingandreflectingVBGsrecordedinPhoto-Thermo-Refractive(PTR)glasshaveabsoluteefficiencymorethan95%andveryhighthe

5、rmal,chemical,andmechanicalstability[1-3].AfterexposuretoUVradiationrangedfrom280to350nmfollowedbythermaldevelopmentintherangeof500°C,thePTRglassprovidesrefractiveindexmodulationupto-3-510.CurrenttechnologyprovidesPTRglasswithrefractiveindexfluctuationsbelow10atapertureupto50mm.2TypicaldosageofUVra

6、diationforhighdiffractionefficiencyisbelow1J/cm.Severalhighefficientgratingswithdifferentperiodsandtiltscouldberecordedindependentlyinthesamevolumeofglass.Animportantfeatureof2diffractiveelementsinPTRglassistheirhighlaser-induceddamagethresholdupto10J/cmfor1nspulsewidthat21058nmandstabilityinCWlase
