4、stems.Thereisagreatrangeofdecisionsassociatedwiththedesignofasupplychain.Onemightgroupthedesigndecisionsintothreebroadcategories.First,therearethetraditionaldecisionsofnetworkdesignasappliedtothedesignofasupplychain.Thechoiceofnodescorrespondstoquestionsaboutthenumber,locationands
5、izingoffacilities.Thechoiceofarcscorrespondstosettingthegenerallogisticsstrategyintermsofwhoserveswhomandbywhattransportationorproductionmode.MurielandSimchi-LevicoverthesemodelsinChapter2ofthisbook.Second,wementionthedecisionsthataremadeinproductdesignthatdeterminethetopology,asw
