3、Chinesetranslation.WeaskednativespeakersofChinesefluentwithEnglishtoindicatewhetherornotpairsofEnglishwordswererelatedinmeaningwhilemonitoringtheirbrainelectricalactivity.Unbeknownsttotheparticipants,someofthewordpairshidasoundrepetitioniftranslatedin

4、toChinese.Remarkably,Englishwordswithanegativevalencesuchas“violence”didnotautomaticallyactivatetheirChinesetranslation,eventhoughweobservedtheexpectedsoundrepetitionprimingeffectforpositiveandneutralwords,suchas“holiday”and“theory.”Thesefindingsshowt

5、hatemotionconveyedbywordsdetermineslanguageactivationinbilinguals,wherepotentiallydisturbingstimulitriggerinhibitorymechanismsthatblockaccesstothenativelanguage.IntroductionthatemotionalcontentaffectsconsciouslanguageselectioninMorethanhalfoftheworld’

6、spopulationuseswordsintwoorbilinguals.morelanguagesonadailybasis.IthaslongbeendebatedwhetherHere,tounravelunconsciousinteractionsbetweenthepro-bilingualindividualsaccesswordformsfromlong-termmemorycessingofemotionalcontentandbilinguallexicalaccess,wei
