3、owwhatIwantedtoteachuntilmuchlater.SoImadeacareerofbeingastudentfor12moreyears(atJohnsHopkinsUniversity,SoutheasternTheologicalSeminary,andtheUniversityofNorthCarolinaatChapelHill),beforetryingtoearnalivingfulltime.Ihaddiscoveredmydisciplineby1959,butitwas196
4、5beforeIfoundmyschoolandmycity.Eachofthe40yearssincethenhasconfirmedmygoodfortuneinjoiningtheUniversityofRichmondcommunityandputtingmyrootsdown.Teachingismycallingandfirstprofessionalpriority.Iamespeciallygratifiedtohavebeendeclared“OutstandingFacultyMemberof
5、theYear”bybothOmicronDeltaKappaandtheStudentGovernmentoftheUniversityofRichmondattheendofmylastyearintheclassroom.With44yearsattheblackboard,Ihavetaughtmostofthestandardundergraduatephilosophycurriculum,includingSymbolicLogic,MoralIssues,andPhilosophicalProbl
