2、apc@iim.nctu.edu.twAbstract:-Beginningfrom2001inwhichbothTaiwanandChinajoinedWorldTradeOrganization(WTO),alargenumberofTaiwanesemanufacturershavemovedtheirplantsacrossTaiwanStraighttoChinainsearchforcheaperlaborforceregardlessofthepoliticaltensionsbetweentwocountries.Witht
3、hegradualeasingofcross-straitpoliticaltensionaftertheinaugurationofpro-ChinapresidentofTaiwan,theTaiwanGovernmentstartingfrom2009hasbeenpromotingthe"EconomicCooperationFrameworkAgreement"(ECFA)throughwhichthegovernmentclaimsthecross-straiteconomicandtraderelationscouldbefu
4、rtherenhancedandTaiwancouldavoidbeing“marginalized”fromtheregionaleconomicsystem.Additionally,asthetwocountriesgraduallyliftrestrictionsontheinvestmentandremovetariffbarriersthecross-straiteconomicisboundtobemorecloselyandthetradeexchangesaresettoskyrocket.However,sincethe
5、bilateraltradeorinvestmentisgenerallythroughtheU.S.dollarthefluctuationincurrencyexchangeratemayserveasoneoftheimportantfactorswhenthebusinessmakestheinvestmentdecision.Therefore,thispaperappliesGreypredictionmethodofGreytheorytotheforecastoftheexchangeratebetweenNTdollara
