2、rameanalysisperspective.VariousframesandfootingsofteachertalkbythreeTaiwaneseEFLelementaryteacherswereidentifiedandfunctionalswitchofframesandfootingswasexplored.ParticipantsinthisstudywerethreeprimaryschoolEnglishteachersandtheirthreeclasses.Classroomobservationsandfieldnoteswere
3、employedfordatacollection.Overthirty40-minutelessons,audio-andvideo-taped,werecollectedandtranscribedverbatim.Resultsofthestudyrevealed:(1)fiveofthetenfootingsweremostfrequentlyusedbythethreeteachers.Thefrequencyanddistributionoffootingssuggestedindividualdiscoursestructuresandtea
4、chingstylesoftheteachers,whichdisplayedorientationtotheteachingmaterialmattersandtheinterpersonalmatters.(2)thecoordinatefigurewithfourquadrantsofintegratedfootingsshowedthatthethreeteachersmostlyadoptedtheauthoritativefootingswhilepracticingtheirclasses.(3)theswitchingnatureoffoo
