4、ionoccursviaopticalchannelwaveguideswrittenwithfemtosecondlaserpulsesappliedcoplanarwithamicrofluidicchannelonaglasschip.Thewaveguidesareopticallycharacterizedinordertofacilitatethedesignofsensingstructureswhichcanbeappliedformonitoringthespatialseparation

5、ofbiochemicalspeciesasaresultofcapillaryelectrophoresis.IntroductionTherecentadvancesinmicrochipfabricationtechnologiesandmicrofluidicshasenabledtheinvestigationofalargenumberofbiochemicalprocessesinminiaturizedlab-on-chipsystems.Thesubstitutionofconventio

6、nalbench-topmeasurementsetupswithon-chipintegrateddetectorswillleadtoafurtherboostforthedevelopmentoflab-on-chipsystems.Inparticular,integratedopticaldetectionhasemergedasanattractivetooltofulfilltherequirementsofsuchanon-chipin-situprobingstrategy[1].Curr

7、entdetectionschemesmostlydependonthehybridintegrationofanexistingmicrofluidicsystemwithexternaldetectionoptics.Thisworkaimsatintegratingbothfunctionalitiesinasinglesubstrate,e.g.aglass.Paralleltotheprogressinglass-basedmicrofluidics,femtosecondlaserwriting
