2、usetheytransferknowledgeaboutprovensolutionsinanunderstandableandreusableformattoexperiencedusersandnovicesalike.Althoughsecuritypatternsarewidelyknown,manyquestionsremainunansweredregardingtheirconceptualfoundationandpracticaluse.WecharacterisethecurrentpatternschemesusingtheZachmanFrameworkfo

3、renterprisearchitecturemodelling,whichallowsustostructureandposequestionsaboutboththeproblemdomainandcorre-spondingsolutionsprovidedbysecuritypatterns.WeproposeaparallelsecurityplaneoverlayingtheentireZachmangridallowingtheseparateconsiderationofsecuritywithinthesecurityplaneusingtheinterrogati

4、vequestions(who,what,where,when,whyandhow)toevaluatethesixaspects.Theintegrationbetweensecurityandfunc-tionalconcernsissimilarlyaidedbyusingthecorrespondencebetweenaspectsinthesecurityandfunctionalplanestodecomposeandexaminetherelationshipbetweensecuritypatternsandproblemcontext.Wealsobrieflydis

5、cusssecuritypatternsastransformations,andrelatedconceptssuchastacticsthatmayusefullybeappliedtosecurity.Weconcludewithasetofunsolvedchallengesforsecuritypatterns.Thisdiscussionisrelevanttoothertypesofcyberpatternsuchasattackpatterns,andmayaidtheeventualdevelopmentofacomprehensiveframeworkforcyb
