3、thdevelopingtheearliestknowndevicetoshowthedailymovementoftheplanets.Helivedmorethantwothousandyearsago.Thesemechanicaldevicesthatshowtherelativeplacementandmovementoftheplanetsandmoonsaresometimescalledorreries.Overthecenturies,scientificthinkersworkedtodevelopthesedevicesandimprove

4、theiraccuracyandcomplexity.Thewords"orrery"and"planetarium"wereonceusedinterchangeably.Today,theworld"planetarium"generallymeansatheaterinsideadome.BARBARAKLEIN:TheearliestplanetariumthatisstillworkingtodayisintheNetherlands,althoughthedeviceisactuallyanorrery.ItwasbuiltbyamannamedEi

5、seEisingastartinginseventeenseventy-four.Ittookhimsevenyearstobuildthismovingdeviceinsidearoominhishouse.Alltheplanetsmoveatthesamespeedastherealplanetsinoursolarsystem.So,ittakesoneyearforEarthtomovearoundthesunandabouttwenty-nineyearsforSaturntodoso.Eisingamadehisdeviceoutofwood,me
