2、dwhatdifferencesuchanappreciationmakestothewaywemightthinkaboutspace.Itthuslookstoatwo-wayexchangebetweentheappropriationofgeographicalideasandtheworkthatthosespatialsensitivitiesperforminvarioustheories.Contributionsfromarangeofgeographicalwriterseachtaketheworkofonethinker,rangin
3、gfromearlythiscenturytocontemporarywritersandfromawiderangeofdisciplines.Theydrawouthowthesetheoristsusespatialideas,whatroletheseideasplayintheirthinkingandwhatthismaymeanforhowwethink,notonlyabouttheory,butalsoaboutspaceitself.Thisisdonebyintroducingtheworkofthekeythinkers,thenta
4、kingtheideasforwardandexaminingtheirpotentialandpitfalls.Eachofthechapterstakesononeapproachandseeswhereitwillgo,followingtheimplicationsofworksforboththinkingtheorythroughaspatiallensandthinkingaboutspace.Fewotherbookshaveaddressedthisrangeofthinkers,havefocusedontherolespaceplays
