3、diffractionoflightbeamsinmediawithperiodically-modulatedopticalproperties,tomanagethecorrespondingreflectionandtransmissionbands,andtoformspeciallydesigneddefects.Consequently,theyaffordtheexistenceofarichvarietyofnewfamiliesofnonlinearstationarywavesandsolitons,leadtonewrichdy-namica
4、lphenomena,andoffernovelconceptualopportunitiesforall-opticalshaping,switch-ingandroutingofopticalsignalsencodedinsolitonformats.Inthisoverview,weconsiderreconfigurableoptically-inducedlatticesaswellaswaveguidearraysmadeinsuitablenonlinearmaterials.Weaddressboth,one-dimensionalandmult
5、i-dimensionalgeometries.Wespeciallytargetthenewpossibilitiesmadepossiblebyopticallatticesinducedbyavari-etyofexistingnon-diffractinglightpatterns,weaddressnonlinearlatticesandsolitonar-rays,andwebrieflyexploretheuniquefeaturesexhibitedbylightpropagationindefectmodesandinrandomlattices
