4、mployedasamathematicalmodelofthefailureandrepaircycleofcomponentsinpowersystemreliabilityassessment.Thisimpliesthatafterrepair,thecomponentisassumedtoberestoredtobeinasgoodasnewconditionintermsofreliabilityperspective.However,someofthecomponentsmayenteranagingstage

5、asthesystemgrowsolder.ThisthesisdescribeshowagingcharacteristicsofasystemmayimpactthecalculationofcommonlyusedquantitativereliabilityindicessuchasLossofLoadExpectation(LOLE),LossofLoadDuration(LOLD),andExpectedEnergyNotSupplied(EENS).Tobuildthehistoryofworkingandfa

6、ilurestatesofasystem,StochasticPointProcessmodelingbasedonSequentialMonteCarlosimulationisintroduced.PowerLawProcessismodeledasthefailureratefunctionofagingcomponents.Powersystemreliabilityanalysiscanbemadeatthegenerationcapacitylevelwheretransmissionconstraintsmay
