2、nterestduetorecentprogresswhichhasovercomeitstraditionalproblems,yieldinganavenueforaddressingimportantopenquestionssuchasthecosmologicalconstantnaturalnessproblem.Thepossibilityofamassivegravitonhasbeenstudiedonandoffforthepast70years.Duringthistime,curiositiessuchasthevanDam,Veltman,an
3、dZakharov(vDVZ)discontinuityandtheBoulware-Deserghostwereuncovered.TheseresultsarerederivedinapedagogicalmannerandtheStu¨ckelbergformalismtodiscussthemfromthemoderneffectivefieldtheoryviewpointisdeveloped.Recentprogressofthelastdecadeisreviewed,includingthedissolutionofthevDVZdiscontinuit
4、yviatheVainshteinscreeningmechanism,theexistenceofaconsistenteffectivefieldtheorywithastablehierarchybetweenthegravitonmassandthecutoff,andtheexistenceofparticularinteractionswhichraisethemaximaleffectivefieldtheorycutoffandremovetheghosts.Inaddition,somepeculiaritiesofmassivegravitonsoncu
