3、houldbemodelledseparatelyastheyhavedifferentfunctionaldependencies.Fewgoodqualitydeterminationsofinsituwalldemandhavebeenmadeduetothedifficultyofmonitoringlivesystemsandduetotheircomplexity.Walldemandshavebeencalculatedfromfieldmeasurementsat11locationsinadistributionsystem
4、fedfromasinglesource.Amethodologyforthelaboratorydeterminationhasbeenevolvedandshowntogiveresultsthataresimilartotheinsituresults.Pipematerialswereclassifiedaseitherhavinghighreactivity(unlinedironmains)orlowreactivity(PVC,MDPEandcement-linedductileiron).Theresultsindicate
5、thatwalldecayratesfortheformerarelimitedbychlorinetransportandforthelatterbypipematerialcharacteristics.Thewalldecayrateisinverselyrelatedtoinitialchlorineconcentrationforlowreactivitypipes.Ingeneral,watervelocityincreaseswalldecayratesthoughthestatisticalconfidenceislowfo
