5、erialfromWeeJasperinN.S.W.,BuchaninVictoriaandfromtheSnowyMountainsregionofN.S.W.Anewgenus,SpeonesydrionCampbell&Barwick,1984,hassincebeendescribedfromWeeJasperandTaemas.NoothergenerahavebeendescribedfromsoutheasternAustralia(theMolong-MonaroTerraneofYolkinetal.2000).AnewgenusCat
6、hlorhynchusisdescribedfromtheCurrajongLimestoneMember.Nearthetopofthesequence,alargegenusdescribedasDipnorhynchuscathlesaebyCampbell&Barwick(1999),hasnowbeenplacedinanewsubgenusDipnorhynchus(Placorhynchus).Examinationofoverseasoccurrencesindicatesthattherewasnoimmigrationofotherd
7、ipnoansintosoutheasternAustraliaintheEarlyDevonian,hence,weconsiderthatthecollectiveDipnorhynchus–Speonesydrionlineagesmusthaveevolvedlocally.ThisevolutionarypatternprovidesanopportunitytodiscusslocalizedevolutionwithinadistinctivegroupthroughtheEmsian.K.S.W.Campbell[ken.campbell
