4、ancerontargetchildrenandtheirfamiliesaswellasthedegreeofdepressionexperiencedbythesechildren.Twenty-fourpediatriccancerpatients,aged8through17years,completedtheChineseversionofChildrenDepressionInventory(CDI).Boththesepatientsand18parentscompletedquestionnairesabouttheirpsychosociala
5、djustmentsincethediagnosisofcancer.Theresultsshowed:(i)patientsdidnotperceivesignificantchangesintheirpsychosocialadjustment,whereasparentsindicatedsig-nificantlylowermoodofpatientsandaslightdecreaseinthenumberoffriends;(ii)bothparentsandsiblingsshowedpositiveadjustment;and(iii)therewa
6、sneithersignificantdifferenceontheCDIscoresbetweenthepediatriccancerpatientsandanormativegroup,norsignificantrelation-shipsbetweenpatients’CDIscoresanddemographiccharacteristicsofbothpatientsandtheirparents,parentingattitudes,aswellasvariablesrelatedtotheillness.Lastly,theresultsaredis
