4、ngtheamorecost-effectiveway.ByapplyingPRCR,awidedatareliabilitywouldincurhugestoragecost.Toaddressthisrangeofdatareliabilitycanbeassuredwithatmosttwoissue,inthispaperwepresentanovelcost-effectivedatareplicasstoredintheCloud.reliabilitymanagementmechanismnamedPRCR,whichB
5、yapplyingbenchmarksfromAmazonWebServices,proactivelycheckstheavailabilityofreplicasformaintainingweevaluatethecapacityofPRCRnodes,andsimulatethedatareliability.Oursimulationindicatesthat,comparingwithreliabilitymanagementprocessusingPRCRwiththedatathetypical3-replicarep
6、licationstrategy,PRCRcanreducethestoragespaceconsumptionbyone-thirdtotwo-thirds,hencegeneratedbyadata-intensivescientificapplication.ThereducethestoragecostsignificantlyintheCloud.resultsarecomparedwiththetypical3-replicareplicationstrategy.ItisshownthatPRCRcanreduceone
