1、IntroductionTheOldTownofLijiangisalsoknownasDayanTowninLijiangba.ItisanintactcityinhabitedmostlybyNaxiethnicpeopleandcoversanareaof1.5squarekilometers.TheOldTownofLijiangwasfirstbuiltinSouthernSongDynastyin1253,byKublai(thefirstemperoroftheYuanDynasty),whowasstationedhereonhismarchintothe
2、south.InMingandQingdynasties,itbecamemuchlarger.Lijiangiswidelyrenownedasanancientcitybuiltinasimpleandartisticstylewithscientificallylaidout.Thereisasquareinitscenter.Itwaslistedasanationalhistoricalandculturalcityin1986.TheOldTownofLijiangissurroundedbyLionMountaininthewestandbyElephant
3、andGoldenRowMountainsinthenorth.Thesemountainsinthenorthwest,shelteritfromthecoldwind.Inthesoutheast,therearefertilefields,whicharedozensofkilometerslong.Thecityisfavoredwithplentifulsunlight,aneastwindandclearspringwaterwhichflowsinthreestreamsandreacheseveryfamily.Historicalrecords 丽江古
