3、iltinSouthernSongDynastyandin1253,Kublai(thefirstemperoroftheYuanDynasty)wasstationedhereonhismarchintothesouth.InMingandQingdynasties,itbecamemuchlarger.Lijiangisworldrenownedasanancientcitybuiltinasimpleandartisticstyleandscientificallylaidout.Thereisasquareinitscenter.Itwaslistedasana
4、tionalhistoricalandculturalcityin1986.GeographyLijiangCityislocatedinthenorthwesternportionofYunnanandbordersSichuan.ItisinaregionwheretheQinghai-TibetPlateau(青藏高原)andYunnan-GuizhouPlateau(云贵高原/雲貴高原)converge.ClimateOwingtoitslowlatitudeandhighelevation,thecitycentreofLijiangenjoysasubtro
5、picalhighlandclimate(KoppenCwb).Wintersarenormallymild,dry,andthesunniesttimetimeoftheyear,withahighsof13.7to14.8°C(56.7to58.6°F),butduetotheariditythistimeofyear,lowsoftenfalltoaroundthefreezingmark.SpringlastsfromMarchtoearlyJuneandbeginsrelativelydryandsunny,butconditionsprogressively
