1、Inthefallof2010,theAICPAmembershipvotedtoextendfullvotingmembershipeligibilitytofinancialprofessionalswhohavecompletedtherequirementsforCPAlicensure,eventhoughtheyhavenotattainedalicense.ThischangetoAICPABylawsrecognizedthattherearemanyhighlyqualifiedprofessionalswhosetalentsenrichtheprofession

2、,andwhoseparticipationinAICPAmembershipwouldbenefittheunifiedvoiceoftheprofession.Asaresultofthisbylawchange,professionalsmeetingtheUniformAccountancyAct(UAA)qualificationsforlicensureandwhoareofgoodmoralcharactermayapplyformembershipbyfollowingtheinstructionsbelow.TheAICPAlooksforwardtocalling

3、youamember!Applicantsmustsubmitproofofmeetingeducation,examandexperiencerequirementsasoutlinedintheUniformAccountancyActalongwiththeircompletedmembershipapplications.Allinformationmustbesubmittedtogethertobeconsidered.EducationApplicantswillberequiredtosubmit,withthemembershipapplication,suffic

4、ientofficialtranscripts,whichwillbereviewedandverifiedbytheAICPA.Thetranscriptsmustinclude:Atleast150semesterhoursofcollegeeducationincludingabaccalaureateorhigherdegreeconferredbyacollegeoruniversityacceptabletotheUAABoard,thetotaleducationalprogramtoincludeanaccountingconcentrationorequivalen

5、tasdeterminedbyStateBoardruletobeappropriate.Note:ApplicantswhoearnedtheireducationalbackgroundsatcollegesoutsideoftheU.S.arerequiredtodownloadandcompletetheFACSRequestForAdvisoryEvaluationform;furnishtheappropriatetranscripts;andpaythefeesfortheforeigneducationevaluations.ExaminationApplicants

6、willberequiredtoacquireandsubmitofficialproof,inasealedenvelope,theyhavefulfilledtheexaminationrequirementfromtheappropriatestateboardofaccountancy.ExperienceApplicantsmustprovetheyhavecompletedoneyearoffull-timeexperienceoritsequivalent,whichincludesprovidinganytypeofserviceoradviceinvolvingth

7、euseofaccounting,attest,compilation,managementadvisory,financialadvisory,taxorconsultingskills.Thisexperiencewouldbeacceptableifgainedthroughemploymentingovernment,industry,academiaorpublicpractice.Applicantsmustfurnishthenamesoft
