2、liaforavisit.However,thetourismiconsinAustraliainstillthatbeautifulastheyusedtobe.Solet’strytofindoutwhattheAustralianGovernmenthasdonetoprotecttheirtourismicons.TheGreatBarrierReefAstheworld’slargestreefsystemwhichhasnotlessthan2,900individualreefsand900islands,theGreatBarrierReefcoversanareao
3、fmorethan344,000squarekilometers.It’slocatedintheCoralSea,offshoresoftheQueensland,north-eastofAustralia.Thereare400kindsofreefs,1500kindsoffishes,4000kindsofshellfishesandmorethan200kindsofbirds.ItbecametheUNESCO’sworldheritagein1981.ThefirstsettlersaroundtheGreatBarrierReefaretheaborigines,bu
4、ttheydidn’tdestroythisplace.It’stheoverfishingandtheover-exploitationofthenewimmigrantsfromEuropethatdidharmtothereefs.Soin1975,theAustraliangovernmentpromulgatedtheandsetuptheGreatBarrierReefMarineParkAuthoritytoprotecttheenvironmentthere.Inordertomakesurethatthe
5、tourismindustrywillnotdosomethingbadtotheenvironmentthere,theGreatBarrierReefMarineParkAuthorityputupsomeenforcementregulations.Thetravelagencieswhichdonotreachtheenvironmentalprotectionstandardswillnotbeallowedtogotothereefsagainwhiletheagencieswhichdoagoodjobatprotectingtheenvironmentwillrece
6、ivepriorityindistributingthetourismresource.Meanwhile,thetravelagenciesareencouragedtosuperviseandreporteachother.Sotheguidesofthetravelagencieswillremindthetouristsnottodestroythereefsthereandtheywillbetheobservantoftheparkandwillreporttothegovernmentiftheenvironmentbecomesworse.Therefore,theg
