2、n,intheformofaframework,isaddedtoalearningmaterial.Thestudywasintegratedinaclassthattheparticipantsweretaking.Motivationalaswellasmemoryperformanceeffectswerestudied.Inanassignment,twostudymaterialswereused,inwhicheachofthematerialscameinaneutralaswellasasociallyenrichedfor
3、mat.Earlierinthesemester,theparticipantshadcompletedaquestionnairethatassessedtheirdegreeofinterestinrepresentedsocialcontexts–theirdegreeofpersonorientation.Theresultsshowedconsiderableindividualvariabilityinattitudestothesociallyenrichedframeworks.Thestudyalsopointstoindi
4、vidualdifferencesastowhethersocialenrichmentofamaterialsupportsmemoryperformanceornot.Inaddition,theresultsofthestudyindicatethattheconstruct‘degreeofpersonorientation’ismeaningfulindescribingthevariabilitybothinattitudeandperformance.Apedagogicalimplicationoftheresultsisth
5、atwecannothopeforsocialenrichmentoflearningmaterialstobeaninstructionalpanacea.Thatis,cognitivescientistsorinstructionalscientistswillnotbeabletoproposesocialenrichmentasageneralrecommendationorguidelinetodesignersofinstructionalmaterials.Rather,designersoughttobemadeawareo
