3、intoeffect.Itwasalsothisgovernment'sfirsttoperform,inaccordancewithlaw,thefunctionsofoffice.Inpursuingdevelopmentthisyear,Chinafacedacomplicatedandchallengingdomesticandinternationalenvironmentofakindrarelyseeninmanyyears,anditseconomycameundernewdownwardpressure.UnderthefirmleadershipoftheParty
4、CentralCommitteewithCo皿adeXiJinpingatitscore,we,theChinesepeopleofallethnicgroups,guidedbyXiJinpingThoughtonSocialismwithChineseCharacteristicsforaNewEra,forgedaheadandovercamedifficulties.Theyear'smaintargetsforeconomicandsocialdevelopmentwereaccomplished,andinbuildingamoderatelyprosperoussocie
5、tyinallrespects,wemademajorprogresstowardadecisivevictory.Themaineconomicindicatorswerekeptwithinanappropriaterange.Grossdomesticproduct(GDP)grewby6.6percent,exceeding90trillionyuan.Economicgrowthmatchedelectricityconsumption,freighttransport,andotherindicators.Consumerpricesroseby2.1percent.Int
6、hebalanceofpaymentsabasicequilibriumwasmaintained.Afurther13.61millionnewurbanjobswereadded,andthesurveyedunemploymentrateremainedstableatacomparativelylowlevelofaround5percent.Forabigdevelopingcountrywithapopulationcloseto1.4billionlikeours,attainingrelativelyfullemploymentiscritical.Economicst
