3、ismToday,thereismorerecognitionofthevalueofculturalpluralism(asastrength)thanatanyothertimeinthehistoryoftheUS,thoughsomemaynotbeenthusiasticaboutorevenmaybefrightenedbyit.NationalidentityHowcananationofsuchenormousdiversityproducearecognizablenationalidentity?JohnZogby,anAmericanp

4、ollster,says:whatholdstheUnitedStatestogetheristhat“weallshareacommonsetofvaluesthatmakeusAmerican….Wearedefinedbytherightswehave….Ourrightsareourhistory,whythefirstEuropeansettlerscameandwhymillionsmorehavecomeheresince.”Thelandofopportunity,attractingmillionsofimmigrantsfromallov
