2、完善终身教育”已由《教育法》以法规的形式确定下来。北京市在“十‘五”中小学教师继续教育工作的意见中也明确提出了“要加大校本培训力度”的要求。各区县、各学校正在认真贯彻落实“十五”意见，通过科研立项、努力实践等积极丌展教师校本培训。本文首先阐述了开展校本培训I的意义，回顾了国内外校本培训研究的进展情况，归纳了目前我国教师校本培训特点和存在的误区等。第二，运用抽样调查研究和访谈等方法，在全面了解北京市中学地理教师校本培训现状的基础上，对存在的不足及潜在的优势进行了初步研究和分析。第三，提出进一步做好北京市中学地理教师校本培训的对策和途径，并列出几种比较适合的校本培训应用方式供学校选择，
