4、ationmadethefollowingdiscussions．Thefirstpart，baSedonacorpusandtakingstatisticandintrospectivemethods，makesadetailedsurveyof3514highfrequencywords’grammaticalfunctions,whicharenouns，verbs，adjectivesandadverbs，anditestablishesadatabaseofgrammaticalfunctioninformation．Besides，it

5、claSsifiesthe3514highfrequencywordsinto676classes，inthoroughaccordancewiththeguidelineofgrammaticalfunction．Theresultisthatthereare364claSseswithonlyoneword，107classes、Vithtwowords，and205classeswithmorethantwowords，amongwhich，thefirsttwoclaSsesareattributedtotheJexicalbase。and

6、the205claSsesareformedaSanewsubstantivewordclasssystem．ThesecondpartcomparesthewordclasssystemmadebyotherresearchersandOUrnewoneintermsofthesyntacticfunctioncomplexityandclassifyingresults．Asforthefunctioncomplexity,10．1％arethesamewhile84．1％oftheoldoneismorecomplicatedthanthen
