7、全省政治、经济、科技、信息、教育、文化中心，长江经济带中游地区重要的中心城市。目前南昌已有较完善的公路、铁路、航空、水运体系，公路主要有南昌一九江高速公路、南昌—樟树高速公路、温家圳一厚田高速公路，以及320国道、105国道、南昌—万年二级公路等；铁路有浙赣铁路和京九铁路i水运有赣江三级航运：航空有昌北机场。但“水陆空”主要集中在北、西、南三个区域，东部交通相对滞后。为了完善南昌城市交通运输体系，形成南昌“二环十一射”的快速干道网，扩大城市经济
