4、lyzedtheresponsestrategiesindiplomaticlanguage,butthedetailedanalysisofresponsestrategiesforconflicttalkhasnotbeencovered.Besides,sometheoriesaboutpolitenessinvolvedinthestudiesofresponsestrategiesaremainlyproposedbywesternscholarsbasedonthewesterncultur
5、albackground.Inviewoftherelationshipamongpoliteness,pragmaticandcultureproposedbyGuYueguo,thetheoriescannotexplainspeciallytheChinesespokespersons’responsestrategies.Therefore,theauthorofthepresentthesisexplorestheresponsestrategies’types,combinationsand
6、frequencyandexplainsthereasonsofstrategy-choosingbasedonGuYueguo’PolitenessPrinciple,whichhelpsusunderstandhowthespokespersonsdealwithconflicttalks.Thedatainthisthesismainlycomefromthequestion-responsepairsbetweenChineseForeignMinistryspokespersonsandjou
7、rnalistsattheRegularPressConferencefromOctober2013toSeptember2014.Accordingtothedefinitionofconflicttalk,156pairscontainingconflicttalksamongthe1238question-responsepairshavebeenchosen.AccordingtotheresearchesonresponsestrategiesofRanYongpingandZhuangMei
8、ying,theauthorclassifiesthestrategiesintodirectstrategiesandindirectstrategies.DirectstrategiesincludeDirectNegation,NegativeJudgment,UsingImperativeSentenceandUsingSwearword,whileindirectstrategyconsistsofImpliedNegation,
