3、useofincentivesystemsisnotonlyadefencemechanismonthepartoffailingfirms,butmoreoftenisalsoapositiveactioninrecognitionofthestrategicroleofcompensationinfurtheringcorporategoals.Thebottomlineisthatmanycompaniesarebeginningtoexperimentwithcompensationalternatives,astheflexibilitytotrynewf
4、ormsofmanagementisanimportantneedforthecloseofthe1990s.Thisissueiscriticalfororganizationaleffectiveness.Thebasicsofincentivepayandhowitcorrelateswithknownorganizationalbehaviourtheoriescanbelinkedwiththeachievementofcorporategoalsthroughtheuseofrewardsystem.Therearemanyapproachestoinc
5、entivecompensation,suchascashbonuses,stockpurchase,andprofitsharing.Thisarticlewillexaminetheindividualandgroupincentiveconceptsthatrewardperformancebasedonpredeterminedorganizationalgoalsandmetrics,severalbehavioraltheoriesthatcanbeassociatedwithrewardandcompensation(motivation,achiev
