3、tistestedmanytimes.Althoughitsformseemssimple,itisstillacomplexoneandsomanylearnersmakemistakes.Intermoffunctionsoftheinfinitivephrase,itcanbeusedassubjects,objects,predicativeandsoon.However,thewidefunctionsoftheinfinitivephrasehaveconfusedsecondlanguagelearnersforalongtime.Duetotheimportance

4、andwideuseoftheinfinitivephrase,theauthormakesacorpus-basedanalysisontheinfinitivephraseerrorsemployingerroranalysis(EA)whichisputforwardbyCorderin1970s.Erroranalysisisanalternativetocontrastiveanalysis,studiestheerrorsofsecondlanguagelearnersandmakescomparisonsbetweenlearners‘inter-languagean

5、dtargetlanguage.Inordertomaketheresearchobjectiveandaccurate,wenotonlycollectacorpus,butalsoadoptconcordancesoftwareAntConc3.2.4andSPSS.TheaimofthethesisistopresentthecharactersoferrorsoftheinfinitivephraseofChineselearners,inordertofindcauseoftheseerrors.Thenteacherscanusecorpustohelptheirfur
