5、usontheindexcialfunctionoftheseevidentialmarkersatthediscourselevel.Sincetheterm"evidential"wasfirstintroducedintolinguisticstudybyBoasin1947,researchersfrombothhomeandabroadhavestudiedevidentialityfromvariousperspectives,includingthetypologicalperspective,th
6、ecognitiveperspective,thepragmaticperspective,andthesystemic-functionalperspective.Sofar,althoughanagreementontheinterpersonalfunctionandsubjectivityofevidentialityhasbeenreached,therestillremainssomeinadequacy.First,regardingresearchcontent,despitethefacttha
7、ttherearemanystudiesonevidentiality,studiesspecifyingtheindexicalfunctionofevidentialityareveryrare,andhavebeenmostlylimitedtothedescriptionsofthegrammaticalizedevidentialsystemsinthenarrativediscoursesofsomehighlyinflectionallanguagesinAmerica.Second,interms
8、ofgenretype,althoughresearchershavewidenedtheirstudiesfromlexicalandclausallevelstodiscourseandgenrelevels,moststudiesareconfinedtotheevidentialityinadvertisementdiscourseandnewsdiscourse
