1、摘要查尔斯·狄更斯是19世纪英国伟大的现实主义作家，他的作品真实地反映了英国乃至整个欧洲大陆的社会现实和时代气息，具有强烈的写实性与批判性的同时也具有浓郁的浪漫主义色彩，其中哥特特征就是他小说中重要的浪漫因子。狄更斯的创作是深受英国哥特文学传统影响的，纵观他三个时期创作的15部长篇小说(最后一部未完成)，多至十余部都带有哥特风格，其中第三个时期也就是狄更斯创作生涯中最重要、最辉煌的后期，由于他晚年对社会黑暗的认识不断加深，对资本主义制度的激愤情绪逐渐代替了早期创作中的乐观主义，而哥特式手法就是他后期创作中用

2、来批判现实社会的最强有力的艺术形式之一，因而这种哥特特征在他的后期作品中也表现得最为明显。又考虑到论文篇幅所限，我在这里就集中探讨他后期长篇小说的哥特式因素。后期作品有《双城记》(1859)、《远大前程》(1861)、《我们共同的朋友》(1865)、《德鲁德疑案》(1870)四部长篇小说。本文试图结合作者的创作背景、创作心理从场景与情节、人物描写、主题等三个方面来详细分析狄更斯后期四部长篇小说的哥特式因素，打破前人只研究一两部作品、一两个方面的局限，并且从主客观因素探讨狄更斯小说哥特特征形成的原因。狄更斯在
