2、lwhich,onacongestednetworkresultinsignicantlybetteruseofavailablebandwidthbyeliminatingtherequirementforaslowstartwitheachTCPrestart.MechanismsareimplementedwhichenablethesendingTCPtorestartitsdata owatasuitablelevelforthecurrentconnection.Afallbackmodeisprovidedtopreventthesou

3、rcefromoverloadinginterveningroutersshouldcongestionbesucientlyhigh.RigoroustestingofthenewalgorithmswasundertakenusingtheREALnetworksimulatorandvariousbenchmarkscenarios.Inadditiontothebenchmarkscenarios,furthermodelsweredevelopedinordertosimulatereal-worldsituations.Overthesu
