3、reignLanguagesResearchDurationSeptember,2015—June,2018June2018ABSTRACTItisknownthatAmericaisamultinationalcountry,andthepercentagesofsocialresourcesdistributedtoethnicgroupsaredisproportionate,especiallyineducation,forhistoricalreasons.Atthesametime,Americai
4、sacountrypursuingequity,sotheproblemofequityinhighereducationhasbecomeafocusmostresearcherspayattentionto.Inthe1960s,withthepromotionoftheCivilRightsMovement,Americaissuedaffirmativeactionaimingtocompensateunequaltreatmentsineducationandemployment.Undoubtedl
5、y,duringtheimplementationofaffirmativeaction,ithasproducedpositiveinfluences:notonlyendowingethnicminorities’basicrighttoeducation,butalsoimprovingtheirsocialstatus.However,itcannotbeignoredthataffirmativeactioninthestageofpreferentialtreatmentsgeneratedalot
6、ofcontroversies,evenresultedinitsabolitioninsomestates.Moredramatically,inthetwenty-firstcentury,thevoiceofrestoringaffirmativeactionreappeared.Thusalltheseinducetheauthor’sreflection:canaffirmativeactionacceleraterealizationofequityinhighereducation?Thispap
7、er,takingCaliforniaasanexample,analysesevolutionofaffirmativeactionincombinationwithspecificcases,andaffirmativeactioninequityofAmericanhighereducationtoanswerthisquestion.Intheprocessofresearch,theauthormainlyadoptsthemethodsofliteratureanalysisandcasestudy
