4、y,fromasocialembeddednessperspective,wedescribetheregionalcorporatenetworkpatternofinterlockingdirectoratesinShanghaiandGuangdong,andanalyzetherelationshipsbetweenthenetworksofdirectorshipinterlocks,firmbehavior,andregionaleconomicgrowth.Wefindthatfi
5、rmsinShanghaiareembeddedwithinacohesiveandlarge-component-basedcorporatenetwork,whereasfirmsinGuangdongareembeddedwithinasporadicandsmall-component-basedcorporatenetwork.WearguethattheeconomicdevelopmentofShanghaimaybehighlycorrelatedwithitscorporate
6、networkstructureofinterlockingdirectorates,whichfacilitatesfirms’understandingoftheenvironment,enhancesinter-firmresourceacquisitionandinter-firmcoordinationandcontrol.ForGuangdong,wesuggestthatfirmsmayacquireresources,coordinateinter-firmrelationshi
