3、tiatorandfinddramaticallydifferentresultsamongthemonomers.Asexpected,styrenegraftsatverylowlevelsduetotheinactivityoftheinitiatorradicalsandthepolystyrylradicals.Methacrylatemonomergraftsataslightlyhigherlevelduetoitsmorereactivepolymerradical,whileacrylatemonomerreadilygraftsontothe

4、poly-butadienebecausepolyacrylateradicalsarequitereactive.Theuseofakineticmodelallowedtheevaluationofratecoefficientsforgraftsiteinitiationtobeintherelativeorderof0.1:1.0:10.0(L/mol/s)forstyrene:methacrylate:acrylatemonomers.Themodelalsopro-videdsuccessfulinterpretationsofthegrafting

5、dataanditsdependenceupontheconcen-trationsofmonomer,initiator,andbackbonepolymer.Duetotherelativelyhigherreactivityofthepolyacrylateradicals,thebenzenesolventactedasachaintransferagentinthissystem.Thisaffectedthemolecularweightofbothfreeandgraftedacrylatepolymerandalsosurpressedthegr
