5、etableoilsareusedinsoapsandcosmeticsorconvertedtooleochemicalsthatareextensivelyusedtoreplacepetrochemicalsinpaints,plastics,fuels,andlubricants.Thedemandforbiodegradablechemicalsappliedtoindustrialproductshasbeenincreasing,andthereforeaboostintheproductionofvegetable

6、oilsandfatsisneeded.Biotechno-logicalapproachesincludingtraditionalplantbreedinganddirectgenomemodifi-cationthroughgeneticengineeringarecrucialtoolstoincreaseseedoilproductionwithoutextendingtheareaofcropcultivation,whichhasadirectimpactondeforestationandcompetitionwit
