2、史了，然而，目录作为书籍中必不可少的部分却并未得到重视，对它的翻译研究更是屈指可数。国内外有专门的目录学，并将它作为一门独立学科进行研究，虽然它主要是研究书目和文献的编排、分类和检索，没有涉及语言和翻译这两个方面，但是目录学的存在和发展证明了书籍目录具有一定的研究价值。虽然目录用语通常都比较简单，但是它也有自身的特点和规律，分析目录的语言特点不仅有助于翻译实践，更有助于引起大家对目录的关注和了解。因此，作者试图从英文书籍目录入手，对其语言特点和汉译进行一定的探讨。本文首先对书籍目录的定义和结构做了简单的介绍，进而从作者和读者的角度论述了书籍目录的重要性；然后以英文书籍目录为研究对象，

3、分析它在词汇、短语和句子三个层面的语言特点，如多用名词、介词，短语的名词化倾向和多用疑问句等；最后针对英文书籍目录的语言特点并结合目录用语追求简洁、精炼的表达习惯，通过翻译实践研究其汉译规律，梳理出适当的翻译方法，从而为今后的目录翻译提供借鉴和参考。关键词：英文书籍目录；语言特点；名词化；汉译AbstractAsthemediumofculturalcommunication，bookshavebeentranslatedandstudiedforalongtime．However,contents，theessentialpartofabook,didnotreceivemucha
