3、ion.Mitochodria,avitalcellorgandie,playsveryimportantrolesinhemeandiron-sulfurclusterproteinbiosynthesis.Ironhomeostasiswithinthisparticularcellcompartmentmustbealsofreelyregulated.Thishelpstopreventbothinadequateironsupplytovariousmetabolicprocessesandexcessivei

4、ronaccumulation,whichisimplicatedintheproductionsoffreeoxygenradicalsandthusoxidativestressdamage.Mitochondrialferritin(MtF),anewplayerinironmetabolism,firstidentifiedin2001,isldghlyhomologoustoferritinbothstructurallyandfunctionally.MtFgeneislocatedonthelongarln
