4、ncontrasttolinkadmissioncontrol(LAC),theylimitthetrafficwithinanetworkbydistributedprotocols.WeintroducefourbasicbudgetbasedNACapproachessuchthatmostresourcemanagementschemescanbeclassifiedbythemfromaperfor-mancepointofview.Sincetheyhavedifferentcomplexityandefficiency,wecompa
5、retheirresourceutilizationindifferentnetworkingscenarios.Ourresultsshowthattheperformanceisratherindependentofthetrafficmatrixforrealisticscenarioswhiletheroutingprotocol–single-ormulti-pathrouting–hasasignificantimpactontheresourceefficiencyoftheIB/EBNAC,ILBNAC,andILB/ELBNAC.
6、Thus,ourinvestigationhelpstounderstandtheperformanceimplicationsofdifferentresourceallocationprotocolsandeasesthedesignofefficientnextgenerationQoSnetworks.Keywords:QoS,AdmissionControl,ResourceAllocation,PerformanceEvaluation1IntroductionThenextgenerationoftheInternetisexpe
