2、ranalyzingtransmissionpropertiesofanarbitrarilyshapedslotinathickconductingplane.Theslotisexcitedbyanelectromagneticsourceofarbitraryorientation.Theanalysisoftheproblemisbasedonthe"generalizednetworkformulation"forapertureproblems.Theproblemissolvedusingthemethodofmoments(MOM)andthefin
3、iteelementmethod(FEM)inahybridformat.Thefiniteelementmethodisapplicabletoinhomogeneouslyfilledslotsofarbitraryshapewhilethemethodofmomentsisusedforsolvingtheelectromagneticfieldsinunboundedregionsoftheslot.Thecavityregionhasbeensubdividedintotetrahedralelementsresultingintriangularelem

6、y-to-cavitycouplinghavebeeninvestigatedintheliterature.Bothintentionalandinadvertentaperturesofvariousshapesareencounteredinthemanyapplicationsoftoday'stechnologyespeciallyduetoincreasedscaleofutilizationofmicrowaveandmillimeter-wavebandsforcommunications,radar,industrialanddomesticapp
