2、leforanalyzingtransmissionpropertiesofanarbitrarilyshapedslotinathickconductingplane.Theslotisexcitedbyanelectromagneticsourceofarbitraryorientation.Theanalysisoftheproblemisbasedonthe"generalizednetworkformulation"forapertureproblems.Theproblemissolvedusingthemethodofmoments(MOM)a

3、ndthefiniteelementmethod(FEM)inahybridformat.Thefiniteelementmethodisapplicabletoinhomogeneouslyfilledslotsofarbitraryshapewhilethemethodofmomentsisusedforsolvingtheelectromagneticfieldsinunboundedregionsoftheslot.Thecavityregionhasbeensubdividedintotetrahedralelementsresultingintr

4、iangularelementsonthesurfacesoftheapertures.Validationresultsforrectangularslotsarepresented.Closeagreementbetweenourdataandpublishedresultsisobserved.Thereafter,newdatahasbeengeneratedforcross-shaped,H-shapedandcircularapertures.IndexTerms–Finite–ElementMethod,MethodofMoments,Perf

5、ectElectricConductor(PEC)11Introduction1THEproblemofelectromagnetictransmissionthroughapertureshasbeenextensivelyinvestigated[1-6].Manyspecificapplications,suchasaperturesinaconductingscreen,waveguide-fedapertures,cavity-fedapertures,waveguide-to-waveguidecoupling,waveguide-to-cavi

6、tycoupling,andcavity-to-cavitycouplinghavebeeninvestigatedintheliterature.Inordertoanalyzeelectromagneticscatteringorradiationfromapertures,itisdesirabletodevelopefficientevaluationschemes.Thepastseventeenyearshavewitnessedanincreasinguseofcomputationalmethodsforthesolutionofelectr

7、omagneticproblems.Traditionalintegral-equationmethodscontinuetobeusedformanyapplications.However,recently,thegreatestprogressincomputationalelectromagneticshasbeeninthedevelopmentandapplicationofhybridtechniques,suchasFEM/MOMand(finite-differencetime-domain)FDTM/MOM.TheFDTMrequires
