1、SenseRelationsAbstract:Senserelationsarethemeaningrelationshipbetweenwordandwordinlexicalsystem,whichistheconceptmeaningofvocabulary.Senserelationshavevarietiesofrelations,mainlyincludingsynonymy,antonymy,polysemy,homonymy,hyponymy,taxonomy,partonomyandsoon.Anywordmaybe
2、inmanyrelations,therefore,everywordcomposesofonemeaningnetworkinactually.Manysenserelationsrepresentthewordsinvocabulary’ssystemarenotanon-sequencegathering.Keywords:Synonymy,Homonymy,Hyponymy,Taxonomy.Ⅰ.SynonymyRelationshipissynonymouswiththewordtwoormorelexicalitemswi
3、ththesameorsimilarmeaningofthelanguagephenomenon.Synonymscanbedividedinto"absolutesynonyms"and"relativesynonymous."Theso-called"absolutesynonyms"arethoseidenticalinmeaningandusageinanycontextcanbeinterchangeablesynonyms.Forexample:fatherland-motherland,compounding-compo
4、sitionperformanceoftechnicaltermsandsomeothersynonyminthesynonymofthisnaturearefewinanylanguage.Mostareconsideredsynonymouswith"relativesynonymous"thattheyhaveacommonbasicmeaning,butthereisalwaysbetweensomeminordifferences.Thesedifferencesaremainlyinthefollowingareas:di
5、alectdifferences:Life-elevator;railway-railroad,theformerisBritishEnglish,whichisAmericanEnglish.Stylisticdifferences:employer-boss;fatigued-tired;decease-die,theformeriscommonlyusedinmoreformalsettings,whilethelatterusedforinformaloccasions.Ⅱ.Antonymy7Antonymyisopposin
6、garelationshipofmutualrelationsconstituteapairofwordsiscalledantonym.Antonymyisanimportantcognitivestyleinourthinking.Whenwedefinedthedefinitionofantonym,atfirstweshouldmakesureofthemeaningofvocabularyareopposite,meanwhile,weneedtohaveanestablishedlexicalrelationship,wh
7、ichistherangeofvocabularyused.Thefirstcategoryofantonymiscalled“trueantonym”,or“contradictoryterms”,“binaryantonym”,"Complementaryword",“non-gradableantonym”.TheStandardofdefinition:twowordscannotbeappliedsimultaneously;theyareallnegative,mutuallyexclusive.Thesecondcate
