3、lesandstandardsofpractice・SeekTruthandReportItJournalistsshouldbehonest,fairandcourageousingathering,reportingandinterpretinginformation.Journalistsshould:•Testtheaccuracyofinformationfromallsourcesandexercisecaretoavoidinadvertenterror.Deliberatedistortionisneverpermissibl
4、e.Diligentlyseekoutsubjectsofnewsstoriestogivethemtheopportunitytorespondtoallegationsofwrongdoing.Identifysourceswheneverfeasible.Thepublicisentitledtoasmuchinformationaspossibleonsources9reliability.Alwaysquestionsources,motivesbeforepromisinganonymity.Clarifyconditionsat
5、tachedtoanypromisemadeinexchangeforinformation.Keeppromises・Makecertainthatheadlines,newsteasesandpromotionalmaterial,photos,video,audio,graphics,soundbitesandquotationsdonotmisrepresent.Theyshouldnotoversimplifyorhighlightincidentsoutofcontex匸Neverdistortthecontentofnewsph
