2、efailure.ManyinvestigationshavebeencarriedoutformitigatingvibrationsandTunedMassDamper(TMD)isoneofthemostwidelyusedmethods.Inthisstudy,investigationsaremadeoftheparametricoptimization,robustnessandreliabilityanalysisofvibrationcontrolbyusingbothSingleTunedMassDamp
3、er(STMD)andMultipleTunedMassDamper(MTMD)inthepresenceofstructuraldampingandmodelinguncertainty.ApedestrianbridgeinMianyangcity,SichuanisusedtoillustratethemitigatingeffectoftheTMDsystems.Themainresearchcontentsandachievementsareintroducedasfollows:(1)Anintroductio
4、nofbridgevibrationsandmethodsofvibrationcontrolaresummarized.andtheTMDcontroltheoryisreviewedandthemainworkofthethesisisoutlined.(2)TheoptimalparameterofSTMDconsideringstructuraldampinginmainstructureisobtainedbyusinganumericaloptimizationmethod,andtherelativedisp
5、lacementbetweenTMDandtheattendantstructureiSalsoformulatedinthispaper.ItisshownthattheestimationformulaofTMDrelativedisplacement,asderivedbyDenHartogbasedontheconceptthattheenergydissipatedbytheTMDisequaltotheworkdonebytheappliedloads,ismerelysuitabletocalculateTM
6、Drelativedisplacementintheresonanceregion(O.97、timalparameterofMTMD.ThenumericalresultsshowthatMTMDoutperformsthanSTMDintermsofcontrolefficiencyandwiderfrequencycontrolrange.InthesamemassratioofMTMD,thecontrolperformanceisenhancedforincreasednumberofTMDunit,andtheoptimaldampingofeachTMDunitisdecreased,resultin8、ginthelargerTMDrelativedisplacement.(4)AnanalysisofrobustnessbothonSTMDandMTMD,byalteringdynamicparametersofthecontrolledstructure,ispreformed.Analysiss
